how long is the cord

I want to be able to sit on the couch with the i pad while being able to see the tv while the picture is on the tv screen.

    first of all it is not a cord. it is a a two inches cable with a 30 pins dock connector in one side and a hdmi plus a usb(for charging only) in the other. second you need a regular hdmi/hdmi cable to connect your tv to the adapter. this is your cord and you choose the length from your sofa to your tv.
