Is it possible to buy a new power supply, or if not does it use the same supply as the old 1/2TB TCs, there are many of these for sale cheaply on eBay

    No. Parts and repairs are available from an Apple Authorized Service Center.

    If you would have had an AppleCare Protection Plan on your Mac, the Time Capsule repair/replacement would have been included in that coverage automatically, at no additional cost.
