If i attach a ps3 to time capsule will it see it as an external hard drive?
I can then stream music on the ps3 to Airport Express speakers via my mac (possibly a little energy hungry...)

Answer
No, your PS3 would be a wireless device on the network (much like a computer would be). Time Capsule will only recognize a hard drive that is connected to its USB port.
