Can Time Capsule Be Used as an External Hard Drive and Backup at The Same Time?

I know that the time capsule can be used as an external hard drive, but can it be used as a normal external HD and a time machine backup at the same time?

Answer
Yes. I do that now. Simply plug it into the USB port and go to airport utility. Once in airport utilities and press disk and enter the information such as password. Hopes this helps.
