Can you backup your time capsule using an external USB Hard disk?
I have seen a lot of complaints about time capsule drive failures and the total loss of the data in it. I'm pretty sure this ISN'T possible, but it's a feature I'd love to see: The ability to backup your time capsule to an external Hard disk via USB, or even write to a DVD using airdrive.
Basically, can you mirror your time capsule with an external hard disk?
Thanks.

Yes you can.
Using an external USB hard drive connected to your Time Capsule, you can use Disk Utility's "Restore" feature to clone the Time Machine that's located on your Time Capsule. Also, you can use AirPort Utility to "Archive" the Time Machine.
Time Machine can not incrementally backup a Time Machine. Besides, there are practical reasons you would not want to do so. Mainly, it would introduce complexity and an opportunity for corruption.- Answered by Andrew H from Carmel
