Do you get faster transfer speeds if you connect a networkable drive to the Airport Extreme, or is it faster if you connect an external USB?

If you have a Gigabit connection, it would be faster for the network drive (has to be Gigabit as well). If you still have Base100 or are using it via wireless, then a USB drive will offer about the same performance.
