Can I use this to extend a wireless network but continue to use closed network? Earlier versions were unable to.
Using Time Capsule to create a wireless closed network (no broadcast SSID), using Airport Extreeme to extend wireless but also need to continue to keep a closed network.

No, this won't happen.
With the protection offered by a strong WPA2 password, there is no additional benefit to setting up a "closed" network (which as a concept is a relic), whether "extended" or not. It's become widely known that almost anyone can find a closed network when there is traffic on that network. Without password protection, that closed network's traffic can be read.- Answered by Andrew H from Carmel
