can i run windows vista base edition on airport extreme?
I have the 24inch Imac running OS X 10.6 and We have an HP laptop we use around the house. I hooked up the airport extreme today and it works fine with the Mac but my laptop is running windows vista basic!! Do I need to do anything special to get wi-fi for the laptop?

Can the laptop recognize your wireless network? If not, it may be that the laptop is not truly 802.11n capable. If the AirPort Utility setting for the "Radio Mode:" is set as "802.11n only (5GHz)" that setting will prevent your network from being visible to non-802.11n 5GHz devices. Change the setting to "802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)" and then "Update" - to see if that setting makes a difference.
In addition, when you setup with AirPort Utility you specified a network name and password, and selected the type of wireless security. All connecting devices must use the exact same, without any deviation.- Answered by Andrew H from Carmel
