Can i connect a 3g/4g usb modem to the usb port on the router and make a wifi connection off that usb modem?
planning on using Clear (clearwire) 4g modem

No. The Extreme's USB port is not capable of this, it's used for sharing printers and hard drives. Any modem connection to the Extreme must be done with Ethernet cable.

I'm pretty sure that you can't. They also sell a router which allows you to do that on this site too...
