can airport extreme be used to send itunes to a stereo receiver?

I know that the airport access point that plugs into the wall can be used to send itunes to a receiver. I was wondering if the airport extreme works the same way?

    airport express has a stereo output so you can stream to speakers using itunes (airtunes feature), but airport extreme can't. The only way to stream music with the express is by wirelessly accessing your media content (on another hard-drive or computer) and playing it locally on your computer
