Yes. There is a built-in speaker at the bottom right corner of the iPad on the back.

Yes. Both ipad1 & 2 have a built in speaker or you can use one of the av accessory cables to output to an amp or airplay to stream to another airplay compatible device

YES the iPad has a built in speaker and a headphone port on the top, you DON'T need the iPad 2 dock to play music

Ya of course, check out airplay... use an airport express, apple tv or any devise with airplay enabled (i.e. Zeppelin air).

This dock isn't for playing music, but it is for just charging the iPad 2, and allowing it to stand up vertically. You can play music on it even when docked I believe, and you can play music without it docked, due to the speakers on the iPad 2.
