resolution

im currently running my macbook pro with 1280 x 800 resolution, am i able to set higher resolution as Resolution: 2560 by 1440 pixels if im getting this display?

    I'm not sure what year your unit is, but the newer 2011 13-inch MacBook Pro WILL do what you're asking, and simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display.
