Can I use the composite cable in my TV if my TV has the 3 video ports (Y, Pb, and Pr)?

Y, Pb and Pr are the sockets for Component video, not composite.
Composite cables send audio down the red & white cables and video down the yellow cable whilst Component sends digital video data down all three cables, which means you can't use the composite cable in the component sockets because the TV won't receive the right video information.
For your TV to display video accurately you need to use the specific Apple Component adaptor, the one with 5 cables.- Answered by Phil D
