Yes it will work, especially with TRIM by default.

As long as your computer uses serial ATA connection it will work fine, it is only how the data is stored, i.e. on a chip rather than a spinning disk. It will also lower power consumption and heat generation. My MacBook Pro lasts around 45 mins longer on battery power since installing SSD.
