I have 2 Macs, can I purchaes 1 disk of snow leopard and use it for both Macs?

If you purchased the single-license disk, then you are allowed to install on just one Mac.
If you have a family-pack license, then you are allowed to install on up to five macs in a household. (Since the introduction of Lion and Mountain Lion, I don't think the family pack is still offered, especially since the price of the single license disk is now only $20 at the online Apple Store.)
The disk for the single-license and the family-pack-license is the same. It is the license that determines how many macs you are allowed to install to.- Answered by Ewald W from Vancouve
