Do I need to have snow leopard to run time machine?
I've put a new HDD in my mac book and installed the original Mac OS X disc to get started. I saved all my old stuff on an external HD via time machine. Do I need to install snow leopard to access the time machine backups?

It is important to use Time Machine on the OSX that
was installed on the machine or later. So if you used
Time Machine to backup using Snow Leopard 10.6,
restore only with Snow Leopard or later.- Answered by Brian S B from Los Angeles
