  • The furthest a MacbookPro2,2 can be upgraded is Lion (OS 10.7). So you are good to upgrade to both. (In order to upgrade to Lion, you first need to upgrade to Snow Leopard, then do a software update to OS10.6.8, then upgrade to Lion using the App Store App that comes with OS10.6.6+). (Since Lion is not directly available through the App Store App, you need to get instructions through the Apple Store link further below.)

    To get Snow Leopard:
    storeDOT.appleDOTcom/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

    To get Lion:
    storeDOTappleDOTcom/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion

    (Replace each "DOT" with ".")
