does macbook pro charger have power cut off when it is full

The charger doesn't handle this function. All charging control is done by the SMC in the computer. The SMC can disconnect input from the power adapter, however I cannot speak for what conditions it actually does this.
I'm not aware that you can "overcharge" the battery, but it is important to drain the battery from time to time and not leave it plugged in for months on end.- Answered by Kevin H from Durham
