What frequency does this use? Will it work with a third-party bluetooth dongle? Sadly my Mac doesn't have bluetooth.

Answer
It will work with a third party dongle if the dongle is directly supported by OSX 10.6 - ie no third party drivers - the trackpad uses BlueTooth 2.0+EDR and greater.
The frequency range, as for all devices in the unlicensed Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) 2.4 GHz short-range radio frequency band, is between 2,400 and 2,483.5 MHz. And is a packet based service with a maximum application throughput of 2.1Mbits or a 'marketing' total of 3Mbits.
Hope this helps.
