When I click on my Apple Remote, every Mac in the room responds. How do I get it to address only one Mac at a time?

Answer
Go to System Preferences, then Security. Look at the bottom of the window, and you'll see the option to pair your remote to only that computer.

Log in as an Admin user.
Get extra close to your Mac (about 3 or 4 inches away).
Point the remote at the infrared sensor on the front of your Mac.
Press and hold the Menu and Next/Fast-forward buttons simultaneously on the remote for 5 seconds.
Your Apple Remote is now paired with your computer. You should see a chain-link style lock appear in the center of your screen for a moment.- Answered by Derek Z from Kenosha

You can pair the remote to only one Mac. To pair your remote with your computer, hold it a few inches away from the computer, and then press and hold the Menu and Next buttons until the paired-remote graphic appears on your screen.
