Does the dock work with iPad or only with iPad 2 ?

I bought new dock for new ipad 2.
But it is not charging when connected to mains with iPad on dock.
Should I return it ?
Or it is only for iPad 2?

    No. It should work equally for both the iPad and iPad 2. Make sure it is on the dock all the way, level, and down all the way. If this does not help, return it and buy a new dock.
