Can you use the iPad Dock when the iPad is in the Smart Case?

I had to physically trim away excess material from my original iPad case in order to use the dock. I'd hate to have to do that to the new Smart Case.

(And by the way, once the iPad is fitted into the Smart Case, it actually requires significant effort to remove it. It's very well designed and manufactured.)

    No. I read online that it would fit with the smart case, but I found out otherwise. Yes, it will fit in the dock if you only want to use it as a stand, but the connector will not be able to make a connection, so it is just a stand, not a dock. Perhaps the person who claimed it would was confusing the smart case with the smart cover.
