can the apple wireless keyboard be used with a MacBook? May I also buy a mouse, separately, for use with the keyboard?

I just want to know whether I can buy an apple wireless keyboard and use it with my MacBook. I also want to know if I can buy a mouse separately for use with the keyboard.

    Yes to both - Use the MacBooks bluetooth to connect either or both to your laptop. This is very common and works very well. Try adding a 2nd larger monitor as well to get the best of both worlds - desktop benefits with portability when needed.
