Does this monitor cause less eye strain than others in the market? If so by how much?

It depends on your eyes. Many have complained that it strains their eyes because of gloss. I have been using it for a few hours now and have not had any eye strain at all. I'd recommend taking a look at your local Apple Store to see if it causes eye strain for you.
