can i use the monitor for cable television as well?

i want to use the led monitor for computer and cable television hook up. is it compatible? is there software that allows the camera to run like a security camera?

    No direct cable connection, but I'm sure you can look at ElGato products for that. As for allowing the use of the built in camera (or any other webcam) I use something called EVOcam. It allows you to remotely view your webcam and I believe you can save logs and images for archiving and you should be able to set it up for motion detect as well. Hope that helps.
