The Apple iPod shuffle (3rd gen) USB Cable is compatible with 2nd gen iPod Shuffle?

I have a 2nd generation iPod Shuffle and I want to know if the iPod Shuffle USB Cable is compatible with this iPod too

    Found this on the apple web site: It is not compatible.

    "These cables are compatible with the iPod shuffle (3rd generation) only and are required to charge or sync the iPod shuffle (3rd generation). The iPod shuffle Dock, which came with the iPod shuffle (2nd generation), and all third-party chargers sold as compatible with the iPod shuffle (2nd generation) are incompatible with the iPod shuffle (3rd generation) and should not be used."

  • The 3rd generation USB cable that came with the 3rd generation shuffle, and the USB cable pack is NOT compatible with the 2nd generation shuffle.
