Can I use this mouse this mouse with my iMac in the same room with my MacBook '09 or will movement on the iMac cause movement on the MacBook?

No, the Magic Mouse (or any bluetooth mouse) will only affect the cursor movement on the computer that the mouse is synchronized to.

The mouse will pair with only one computer at a time. So you could use it in the same room without causing anything to move on the other computer.

When you get the mouse you will have to go on one of the computers and go to your bluetooth settings and add the mouse. This will "pair" the mouse with just that computer, so you won't have to worry about anything happening on the other computer.
