How can I upgrade from logic express 7 who works on a G processor to logic studio who works on an intel

I use logic express 7 on an iMac G5. I've also an iMac (intel).Now I read that I can update to Logic studio from logic express 7. But Logic espress 7 just works on my G5, according to the system requirements. Can I install it on my iMac (intel) and then upgrade?
