Will this allow me to output 1080i video from my MacBook Pro?
I would like to find a VGA to component video cable if this can output HD signals. My HDTV is older and does not have HDMI, only component video for HD input.

Answer
VGA can handle 1080p, but only high-end TV's can display 1080i or 1080p through VGA, the TV you have described seems doubtful.
