  • HDCP is a 'content protection' standard - it's not required to view any image, it's required to view certain, DRM encrypted content - such as some videos purchased on the iTunes Store; to watch/play HD content from a PS3 to a HDTV, etc. This product will function fine with a 1920x1200 (or lower-resolution) DVI display, even those pre-HDCP.
