Unfortunately this product only works with MacBook Air and the new Mac Mini Server.

Interesting responses. I have both a MBA (Jan 2009) and a Mac Mini (non-server) (Sep 2009)
The Mac Air superdrive works in both. I use it in the Mini for region 2 DVDs and the internal DVD for region 1 (family around the globe)

NO. MacBook Air and Mac Mini *Server* only. Due to the way the drive is powered from the computer, only these two work with it.
...shame, I know. As if you want a second drive for other Mac laptops or iMacs (or even separate Windows machines), you have to use a third party manufacturers one instead, as only the MacPro takes more than one optical drive at the same time.- Answered by JS from Hove
