does it hook up to the computer or the DSL modem? and do you have to have the main computer on to have internet on the rest of the computers

  • It hooks to the DSL or Cable modem and transmits the signal to all computers and printers on the network. Your main computer is just a client for this network and therefore does not have to be operating to access the network with other clients.
