Can I use an English Apple Keyboard (with numeric pad / non-wireless) with a German Mac Book Pro?
Hello,
I´ve purchased my Mac Book Pro in Germany 18 months ago, so the built-in keyboard is German. I have purchased now an English Keyboard but some letters are inverted (for example "y" and "z")... question is: can I use an English Apple Keyboard (with numeric pad / non-wireless) with a German Mac Book Pro?...
thanks for your help.
regards
Andre

Answer
Open:
-System Preferences/Language & Text
-Input Sources tab
-enable (checkbox) for U.S. (or which ever English USB keyboard you are using)
-maybe keep German enabled for when you don't have the USB keyboard
If you want the entire system to be in English,
-Language tab
-select English
