Is this memory module compatible with iMac? If it is, how do you install it?

I have a 1st generation iMac (Summer 2007) and it has 1GB of memory, I'd like to upgrade it to either 4GB or 2GB.

    Get the 1x2GB So-dimm. Your iMac has two memory ports in the bottom, so if your iMac currently has 1GB of RAM, it's likely got 2 1/2GB modules in it, so if you get 2 of the 1x2GB So-dimm, you'll upgrade to 4GB total RAM. If you shut down, unplug, and roll your iMac onto its face, with the stand up in the air, you'll see a removable screen on the bottom. Remove that screen with a screwdriver, and you'll see the ports beneath. Pull the ribbon to pop out the module, and slide your new module in, sticker-side-down. Push a little harder than you might have expected to push, you'll feel it click into place. Put the ribbons and the screen back, plug in and boot up, and check your About this Mac under the Apple menu. You should see your newly increased RAM there!
