If you have a unibody Macbook Pro, then, yes you can.

No, this headset has left and right ear and mic all on one connector, while the macbook pro has separate connectors for speakers and microphones. You may be able to do it with some kind of adaptor, but they will not work for that just on their own.

you would be able to hear but there is no need for the mic as there is one built in. So no need for the mic on new macbooks as they put webcam and mic standard ages ago!

You can use them for listening during an ichat conversation, however, when plugged into the audio out. You can then speak into the hidden microphone in the keyboard on your macbook pro. I find it useful to have in an ichat conversation particularly in a public place, like a coffee shop.
