do you have to use the shuffle dock to connect to your computer or can you connect directly
My niece was given an IPOD shuffle 2nd generation that was used by her brother. We do not have the docking station and have tried to connect to the computer with the cable. Do you have to have the dockign station to connect? We have tried three computers and none will recognize the shuffle. We have gone through the troubleshooting steps as well with no luck.

Since you have already tried connecting your Ipod with three computers without any luck, i believe that the dock is necessary for the Ipod to be recognized, at the very least, on your computer.
