What is the range for the 2G ipod touch to the Nike sensor, [can i leave the ipod touch on the sidline of a soccer game?]

no, I tried playing volleyball with the sensor in my shoe and it didn't record anything with the ipod touch on the sidelines. It has to be pretty close by to sense the sensor.
