Yes, I've seen it done.
To drive the 30" Cinema Display at native resolution, it requires a dual-link DVI-D connection.
The DVI-D connector on this adapter has all 24-pins required for dual-link - 3 rows of 8 pins, whereas DVI-D single-link connectors are missing the middle two pins from each row (ie: two groups of 9 pins on each side, with a 6-pin gap in the middle).
Yes, this adapter supports dual-link DVI, and as long as the computer you're connecting it to is capable, it will run the 30" Cinema Display at 2560x1600 resolution.- Answered by Ben T from Murwillumbah
