I have the new MacBook Pro that came out in 2011 and need to connect to an LCD Projector will this cable to it?

No, The new MacBook Pro's (Early 2011) have a Mini Display Port not a Mini-DVI they are different.

If you have a VGA cable for the Projector, this is the correct adapter to use. Otherwise, you will need a different adapter depending on which cable the Projector uses.
