No you don't have to have anything else to pair with iPad mini. Any device that is Bluetooth capable will pair with the BlueBuds X!

Nope. It's a simple as connecting anything else that's bluetooth. Enjoy them! The best feature is that you get great sound quality and you don't have deal with tangled cords. These will compliment your ipad very nicely.
