Is this only compatible with an iphone / ipad / ipod?

    It's compatible with the app, which means that if Nike eventually creates an Android app, it would work with it too but currently it's limited to Apple products.

    Keep watching their support site. I'm sure that eventually they will support the FuelBand on more platforms.
