The Promise Pegasus SATA Drive module is a standard 3.5 inch SATA drive on a carrier tray that is compatible with the Pegasus R4 and R6. As such, it's useless without a Pegasus R device.
If you were referring to the internal HDD on your iMac, it could conceivably be disassembled (the HDD could be removed from the carrier tray) and installed in the iMac but in addition to voiding your warranty and being a difficult procedure that requires special tools, you'd be paying a huge overhead for the extra carrier and drive.- Answered by Morgan G from Tarzana
