Can this external hard drive be used to backup a Windows partition as well as the Time machine on Os X Lion?

Answer
Yes, the drive can back up a Windows partition but you need to create a separate partition on the drive and format in a Windows friendly format (FAT32/NTFS). Use Disk Utility in OSX to do this. So essentially, you'll have 2 partitions on the hard drive-One for Windows and One for OSX. OSX will see both partitions and mount them as separate hard drives. Windows will only see the Windows partition and mount that as a separate hard drive.
