How long is the strap on this bag? Can you carry it on your shoulder?

Each strap is about 19 1/2 inches (measuring the free carrying loop only, from the top edges of the tote). You can loop the straps over your shoulder and carry it comfortably. If this is too short for you, you can lengthen the carrying strap by using the second set of punched holes - each hole is about an inch below the first set of holes - which will add an extra 2 inches.
