Parallels simply lets you run Windows or Linux operating system on your Mac. If you have software that only runs on PCs, then with Parallels you can use your Mac like a PC, and install your own PC software on it. You will still need your own PC software to read those .pes files. I'm assuming you already have that but just need to make it work on your new Mac? If so, then Parallels is a good answer.
