It is a form of AirPlay, it just works with bluetooth opposed to the conventional wi-fi however it will appear in the AirPlay settings

Not this version. This is the bluetooth version. I believe there is also a sound link Air version which works with airplay.

no but it uses bluetooth which has the same exact functionality on all the devices
