The requirements said you need a disc drive Or a Wi-Fi connection, therefore you can download the required software from the Internet, if you have no disc drive.

Yes it can, it has wireless networking, I works on my MacBook Air and all you have to do is add it through the mac control panel, as long as you have wireless it will connect using airprint.
