Will it grip new iPad with Apple case?
I ordered a new iPad and the Smart Case (Not the cover) for my wife for Xmas. Will this speaker allow the iPad to fit with the case installed or will she have to remove the case to attach the speaker?

Yes, because it's silicone it is quite flexible.
