Is this Lightning compatible or could you use an adapter? Strangely, it doesn't say, so I must assume no, correct?

I have purchased the Lightning to 30 pin adapter for my older ihome model. The one with the 0.2m cord ($29.99 from Apple store)works with my Otterbox case on while the plain adapter (19.99) works if there is no case on the iPhone . It works just fine. You could also use the charging cord that comes with the phone as the iD99 is the only one with a USB port but I am not sure if you can play and charge at the same time. You could not on older models. Waiting to hear from ihome on that one

  • it is lightning compatible. Apple's adapter(not included in package contents) will allow you to play and charge your iPhone 5 on the rear dock(iPad), you can also charge your iPad mini or iPhone5 through the USB on back of unit.
