Can I listen without noise cancellation, or does the on/off switch only turn on and off the headphones?
I usually sleep with headphones in (with no noise cancellation). I just want to be able to hear people knocking on my door, or my alarm clock going off...

The Studio Headphones require batteries and the batteries help with the noise cancellation. Unfortunately, you can not use the headphones without using the batteries so therefore the headphones will always have noise cancellation.

No, you can't. The on/off switch turn on and off the ANC and the headphones at the same time. If you turn the ANC off, you will turn the headphones off, too.

the switch is just to turn the headphones on and off but if some one is trying to talk to you, one of the beats symbols on the side is a mute button
